Walking down from the north towards the playground and cottage. View from outside cottage west to Holme Moss Village pub and beyond east to cottage

There is a pub which serves excellent food and runs a small food shop selling milk bread, fresh veg etc plus pies, pasties and 'Holme-made' ready meals . These are available when the pub is open.  The nearest Londis convenience store is less than 2 miles away in Hinchliffe Mill.  It is open until 10.00pm

The village boasts a small but well equipped children's playground just a few metres from the cottage. Parking is free on the cobbles and along the main road.  There is plenty of room for the residents to park, however at the weekend, walkers come into the village and park.  This may mean that if you arrive back at the cottage late Saturday morning you may not be able to park on the cobbles but have to go up the road until the walkers leave.

There is a regular bus service to Holmfirth and beyond.  The bus comes from Holmfirth through the village to a turning circle just beyond the pub, turns and comes back, collecting passengers from the cobbles.  In practice, you can see the bus go up and have plenty of time to lock up and be outside to catch it as it returns.  A bus timetable will be left in the cottage.
